Equipment

Safe & eco-friendly

Dart cleaning is a safe and environmentally friendly technology for the cleaning of heat exchanger- and condenser tubes. The equipment is based on the principle of low pressure (40 bar) and high waterflow (130 liters/minute). Low pressure cleaning ensures a safe work environment for operators, but also the equipment. It’s virtually impossible to damage tubes with projectiles. Furthermore, much less wastewater is created compared to traditional tube cleaning methods, such as hydroblasting.

Compact trailer system

Used for most projects

The compact trailer system (CTS) is the most used system for tube cleaning projects at Abalco. It’s compact, easy-to-use, and mobile. It has an onboard pump system with the option to power 2 cleaning guns. This means that 2 operators can clean tubes at the same time. Resulting in an average cleaning speed of ca. 500 tubes per hour. The system is usually manned by a 3- or 4-man crew. 2 operators are cleaning, the 3rd is watching the pump system and the manhole(s), while the 4th is coordinating the job with the crew and customer.

When a large volume of tubes must be cleaned in a short window of time, the CTS is easily scalable. Since it’s a stand-alone system, you can easily place a 2nd or even 3rd CTS trailer at the job site, increasing the cleaning speed by 2 or 3 times depending on the situation.

Features of this system

  • Used for most projects - easily scalable
  • Cleaning speed ca. 500 tubes/hour
  • 40 BAR, ca. 130 liters/minute flow
  • 3- or 4-man crew required

Air cargo container

Designed for air-cargo

The air cargo container unit (ACC) is specifically designed for transport by air-cargo. In case of an international (emergency) project, this container can be flown out to the job site.

Depending on the distance from Abalco’s headquarters to the customers’ job site, the ACC container can save transit time, which leads to less downtime of the condenser or heat exchanger.

Features of this system

  • Designed for transportation by airfreight to job site
  • Cleaning speed ca. 500 tubes/hour
  • 40 BAR, ca. 130 liters/minute flow
  • 3- or 4-man crew required

40’HC container

Designed for large-scale projects

The 40' HC container unit (HCC) is specifically designed for large-scale tube cleaning projects. It has 2 onboard pump systems with their own water buffer tanks and water treatment systems. It's possible to connect between 4 and 8 cleaning guns. This means that 4-8 operators can clean tubes at the same time. Resulting in an average cleaning speed of ca. 1000-2000 tubes per hour. The system is usually manned by an 8- or 10- man crew, depending on the situation at the plant. The HCC is designed to, for example, clean large amounts of tubes in steam surface condensers at power generation plants.

Features of this system

  • Used for the biggest tube cleaning projects
  • Cleaning speed ca. 1000-2000 tubes/hour
  • 40 BAR, ca. 130 liters/minute flow
  • 8- or 10-man crew required

Specialized propulsion systems

Abalco has a range of propulsion systems which are used to shoot the projectiles through the tubes of heat exchangers and condensers. All propulsion systems have an onboard pump system and integrated water tank. The water is pumped to 2 or more cleaning guns which the operators use to shoot the projectiles through the tubes. Air pressurized triggers on the cleaning guns ensure smooth operation and less fatigue during cleaning. All propulsion systems produce a water pressure of 40 bar and a flow of ca. 130 liters/minute. This high flow ensures that projectiles travel through the tubes quickly and remove all deposits. The turbulent water flow also ensures that all loosened deposits are flushed out of the tubes.
